Panday: Crime wave keeps us enslaved

POLITICAL leader of the United National Congress Basdeo Panday says as T&T observes Emancipation Day, people are enslaved and held prisoner by an unprecedented crime wave.

In a media release issued on Tuesday by the UNC Alliance, Panday said as the nation celebrates 169 years of freedom, people must cultivate the economic independence of their foreparents who struggled and gave up their lives.

“We must return to the strong family values which characterised our ancestors,” the release said.

The release said although slaves were emancipated, the residue of slavery lingers on.

“The political and physical emancipation of the slaves didn’t mean that there was a corresponding and mental freedom that came with it. We must cultivate the economic independence of our foreparents who struggled and gave up their lives.

We must return to the strong family values which characterised our ancestors.”

Not only the crime wave Bas, the PNM have dem niggas up in Laventille in bondage still. They cyah support dey self and still have to depend on massa Manning to provide dem wid handouts for survival.

And the cont and dem feel so grateful that they still turn around and vote for Massa.
