Government is handing out free toilet sets in order to win votes in the upcoming general election, UNC Senator Wade Mark charged yesterday.
Mark, who claimed that Government had given away free water tanks in the last general election, said the PNM administration had hit upon “a new scheme” for this coming campaign in the form of “free toilet sets to all citizens who are in need of it.”
“Mr Vice-President, I understand that they are bribing people with toilet sets,” Mark fumed.
The statement which was made during the debate on the Muncipal Corporation bill provoked laughter from all sides.
